Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken OVA

Finally, after a grueling wait, it finished airing. For the record, this OVA was released along with a lengthy schedule and also in a weird drip-feeding manner.
the second episode was the first one to air, and then a pause that spanned almost 4 months was issued until the second episode finally aired. That's when I was able to move along with my life, and start anticipating the wrap up of a sadly, average screening.
Taking away everything that made the parent series so popular and lovable, the massive world-building, the built-up confrontation and the breathing surrounding the world, these two episodes enticed their gaze and provided ... manufactory fan service that fed the ominous thirst some of the characters give off. I'm looking at you, Shuna.¨

Two whole episodes of mindless guilty pleasure, what really sales most of the shows from this genre. I would argue that the second episode was the better one, screening the awaited “beach episode”, while the first one had an erotic display of sumo wrestling, going as far as involving with butt-sumo-wrestling which couldn't stop me from thinking about Keijo!!!!!!!!. Trash only leads to trash. Either way; you can't really be harsh on an OVA, it was still fun and enjoyable. A lot of humor and “cultured” sightings. There is a huge audience for that.

The OVA for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is an OVA that consists of two parts. The first two episodes are pure fanservice episodes that have no real relevance or connection to the story. The second two episodes follow immediately after the first season and are about an event that happened while Rimuru was a teacher.

These last three episodes are connected to the main anime in the sense that they give more detail about Rimuru as a teacher but there's also other connections with the main story making these episodes worth watching if you're interested in the story of the anime.

The ... characters are all the same as in the anime except for extra teachers and minor characters. The animation, voice acting and sound are all the same as in the anime.

Overall the first two episodes are worth watching if you like fanservice but you can just skip them if you don't. The last three episodes have more of a connection to the story making them worth watching for anyone who's interested in the story or just likes the anime.

This makes it a lot easier, as all Ova episodes can practically be accommodated in one rating.

The first 2 Ova episodes are mostly humor-oriented and have no relevance to the main story. Among other things, they have a significantly higher fan service share. Especially as you would expect from a "Beach Episode" and "Sumo".

Nonetheless, they were at least humorous and the fan service was ironically very balanced. It was actually amusing how both the men and the women got into exactly the same situations.

The other 3 Ova episodes do not have great relevance to the main story either, but their ... events are addressed minimally in the first episode of the second season.

For the most part, they were average and corresponded to the level of a normal everyday episode in this story.


You can watch the Ovas, but if you are not interested in the characters' screen time but in the story, you should skip them.

It's not an entirely pleasant experience. At the beginning, it focuses on a lot of fanservice, and we realize that it will be an OVA without content. However, when the episodes start showing an event at the academy, where the Tempest students will participate, the story becomes more enjoyable and not so much of a waste of time.

Unfortunately, since the beginning of this animation has two episodes focused on fanservice, without content, the overall rating is lower than it deserves for its last three episodes.
