Hi Everyone. Thank you all so much for all the views, comments and likes, I'm totally blown away by how well this little video has done! I have produced a new video about BAR's sibling, ZERO-K. Seeing this open and honest reply from the devs is very refreshing and has convinced me to give this game a try. I played Total Annihilation back in the day and greatly enjoyed it, looking forward to playing this 😊
Something that should be noted about the impact of Total Annihilation is that it came out in 1997 and was so revolutionary/dominant that it topped all the polls of best RTS game for years, beating newer titles like StarCraft, Warcraft 3 and Age of Empires. In fact it was still winning major "Best RTS" polls as late as 2004 when the users of GameSpy (the largest online gaming community at the time) voted it the greatest RTS of all time. I'm only a few seconds into the video and immediately recognize the art style as resembling The Spring Project, which came from Total Annihilation. Hoping I'm right, because I'd love to see an updated version of that
It's running on a Spring fork, yes. It's the successor to Balanced Annihilation. They're turning their fork into a technical marvel, it's shocking how capable they've made it.
@@nERVEcenter117 Fully correct. And yes, the engine-wizards that have worked on the engine have done unimaginable things with it. At multiple stages during the development in the last 5 years, we've had multiple upgrades, some of which improved performance by a factor of 10! We're very proud of each contributor here, as it proofs that upgrading older tech is worth the trouble, and that optimization is key to success. Also, being able to work in/on an engine directly, specifically for RTS, is really powerful - there are no real RTS-engines out there, and the big engines we all know, don't have everything that is needed to deliver what a massive scale RTS needs.
I just donated $20 to support FOSS. I noted to them I'll further donate to push for Full controller support. That's an avenue RTS ought to consider helping broaden the genre's appeal to handheld and in the living room.
Starcraft 64 was enough proof to me that controllers and RTS games don't mix. What makes you think that a complex game with very many inputs needing the ability to quickly do various clicks in various places of the screen is going to be workable on controller?
Been playing the game for about a year now. Me and a couple of friends. We usually play against the AI, with a 20 min. timer before all hell breaks loose. We boost the AI to give it a pretty big advantage and man...we've had so many awesome battles. Especially the ones where you barely cling on, are almost overrun but still manage to turn the tide, throwing nukes left, right and center just to keep the frontline from crumbling. An absolute gem of a game!
Thanks for the comment, I think whenever I've played on Barbarian mode, or tried playing the Ai on harder levels, I'm always hanging on! Its abit disheartening when my nukes also get shot down! Thanks 👍🏻
I fucking suck at RTS. Like I am so bad at RTS they just don't click with me. Been playing this game on and off for a year and it is crazy fun. The only RTS I've ever managed to improve at.
I've been playing BAR for over half a year, and I still absolutely loved it. I don't have much experience with RTS games aside from Starcraft 2 (only played the campaign trilogy though) but the second I saw BAR, I knew I'm gonna get hooked and I was right! I mostly play skirmish and BARbarian Hard AI is actually super challenging in 1v1s as it expands overwhelmingly fast like you said, that agressiveness helped push me into doing the same and it took me a while to get an actual clean win against it! My favorite experience is playing a 2v3 (1 AI on my side) on All That Glitters map (very popular 8v8 map), the game went painfully long as I tried so damn hard to maintain map control, having stressful close calls with my teammate's line being breached by Titans, and that one moment where I built about 10 Juggernauts to siege the whole enemy base in one go only for them to get absolutely clapped by 3 Behemoths that almost walked into my base. I ended up sniping those Behemoths, rezzed them along with my dead Juggs, and then went in with an army of 30 Juggs and 5 Behems. My economy at that point is so insane that I can build a Jugg in 20 seconds XD Absolutely unique experience and I 1000% recommend RTS players to give the game a try and have fun with strategies that are truly Beyond All Reason!
The way you can effortlessly control the armies in this game is well beyond all other RTS games. The biggest downside is slow development, since the game is free and development voluntary. I think it's the best current RTS, and if you have development capabilities, it's super easy to jump in and even do something you always wanted for an RTS. Highly recommend it.
Imo i ported line move to supcom faf (& also area reclaim), and those idiots just banned move/fight command from modding support. I will praise bar devs for incorporating QoL features in the base game instead of banning them in the name of "skill". Repeat command is worth it's weight in gold alone. You can do sort of cheap auto-skirmish, auto-repair, auto-reclaim and whatever you want and even auto-skirmish widget exists (it's not great), but it's allowed anyway. Development is still better than any other RTS I can think of.
What is best about BAR compared to other RTS is that resources rapidly scale higher, while in other RTS games, they peak and then decline. So while another game can drag on for hours, an average 8V8 BAR match is 30 minutes. If your BAR match lasts 1 hour, you can expect absurd amount of action, thousands of units fighting at once and multiple game-ending units going head to head. With land, sea and air, with craters and mountains, no other RTS has the things that BAR has.
Thanks, also BAR have been quietly experimenting with the game engine to see what it can handle and I believe the battles may get considerably bigger yet!
21:38 just saying afaik overwhelming amount of attack range rings was fixed and also they only appear like that cause of view switching in replay (my guess)
This game being totally free is beyond my understanding. A lot more games have been added to Steam that offer less and charge money for that. People behind this masterpiece should be proud on themseleves.
I've played this game for hundreds of hours over the past years! It's a MUST RTS to play, even if you already played it before it sucks you right back in everytime.
You know what. I like what i see, so i made sure i hit that like and subscribe button, and even hit the bell so not to miss out on any future videos. Still have to see 60% of video.
Now we just need you to cover Zero-K and contrast it's development fork from Total Annihilation, not so much as a 'instead of' but as a 'complement to' Beyond All Reason. For myself, The game I dream of is BAR with Zero-K's unit AI. I understand why BAR doesn't do that, but I still dream of it.
Good analysis, and history. But there is 1 thing i did not hear in this review, that strikes me at BAR, in comparison to TA and PA which i played a lot. The BAR community is toxic, very toxic, unpleasantly toxic. You get kikcbanned for 'nothing'. If u think/make up a new start/strategy, it might be you'll get kickbanned for playing your new strategy out of the game and gameroom. As a matter of fact, when i was new to the game i played Istmus front, got my base deleted by enemies, i fled into pond and ended up building a Flagship in pond, for defensive purposes. That worked really good against the enemy T3 invading. It worked, the Flagship was able to blast all incoming T3 and T2, so i builded a 2nd Flagship in pond. We won the game. But during the game i got involved with an ally, who accused me for trolling (since he had not see any1 build T2 navy in pond before), this person filled an complaint against me..! And then i got banned for a week, for building T2 navy in pond, can you belive that?! This is an example of the toxic community. The game is fun, the community not so.
Sorry to hear that, sounds like such a waste of a great opportunity for people. This game has so much momentum and developement work behind it, would be a shame if the thing holding it back, ironically, was the community. Thanks for the insight!
the reason why you got kick banned is because you decided to join a slightly more competitive lobby without even trying to learn how to play the game first. Theres a reason why people don’t build defensive flagships in ponds. they become completely useless when the enemies are out of range. why didn’t you just build other long ranged u its like a vanguard or a katapult?
i havent run into any more toxisity then any other game has, your case sounds rough and some people and lobbies do take things serious, but sometimes ppl kick/ban for other reasons like they want a private game. people say I'm trolling cuz I won a bunch of games with just buy friendgroup but I'm trash in actual multiplayer lol. but like there's also lots of wonderful people that will help you get better too
Great video on a game I have never heard of but will definitely be looking for = ) I just wish someone would do the same for Warzone 2100... an utterly breathtaking and ahead of its time romp back in the day. I have the original on disc. It has a community but it seems to be quite fractured = ( Thanks for the intro = )
@ I did enjoy it! It was easy to pick up, thanks to a really clear economy system and great QOL UI improvements. The strategy is totally different, but it’s gonna be fun to learn.
actualy a BAR player with 500h+, ty to talk about the game its rly good and the best free rts imo so yeah pretty sad that its not more popular for the lore of the game and all all public friendly interface etc etc are coming with a maybe future steam release :D if u want to see great gameplay i can recommand you the BrightWorksGaming who is the most popular caster for BAR
It might be interesting, even important, to dedicate a segment to the multiplayer experience and the community life around it (e.g. competitions, the lobby system, etc...). In spite of the usual inconveniences of such online experiences that is what makes this game shine among RTS games.
@@MBGamingReviews Yeah. I will add that I'm generally only a singleplayer RTS enjoyer. I never enjoyed MP with AOE2, SC2, WC3, etc. But with BAR, playing in a giant 8v8 map, there is a level of scale and awe that is just INSANE. It's also very noob friendly, and on an 8v8 map, the pressure is a bit lighter on each individual player to be really good. I also would love to see you highlight some of the incredible management features the game has, like being able to move units into a line, by dragging a line when moving/attack moving/patrolling. Or the different ways you can automate production queues (and their rally points even being capable of being attack moves, patrols, etc). This game truly is the next generation of RTS! Thanks for this video!
It may be great, but I am tired of another Total Anihilation C&C, SC and whatever style of RTS, which focues on large armies and terrains which end up being flat map with obstacles. Why nobody can copy Dawn of War 1 + expansion or BFME style of RTS with a love to expand controlls like BAR?
I wish i could get into bar more often but total annihilation games are very math and build heavy. 2 pgens per mass extractor, etc. Its all very build heavy, macro heavy, micro heavy, and it takes quite a while to learn good build orders and units. If there was a FOSS game that had similar gameplay to starcraft or even warcraft, i might get addicted to it
theres less micro with bar as you can make your units for a line or semicircle with 1 drag, instead of microwing everything. and ya some of the lobbies are quite mechanical but you can find a group of friends like I did and we play how we want, on huge maps where we play to have fun. i love to watch starcraft but I was never good at it, I'm not the best with BAR but I do love all the mechanics and ballistics and options
i cant belive you didnt mention its unique drag for formation mechanic instead of having to micro every unit. uoi also didn't talk about most weapons having ballistics and radar that's blocked by ground and stuff. but over all great vid and I'm a BAR fam myself. I only play legion though
Hi, apologies for missing those, this video was only meant as a tribute and not an in depth analysis, as well as being an early attempt by me to review games. Thanks for the highlights though and I'm glad you still enjoyed the video. Thanks
@@MBGamingReviews oh i didnt mean to come off angry or anything, you did great, the reality is that BAR has too many awesome features that can be covered in a shorter video
BAR is so awesome! I've only played RTS casually before with titles like c&c generals back in the day. Tried aoe4 for some time but it never really clicked but Beyond all reason has everything an RTS should have
@@MBGamingReviews There are a few of us with thousands of hours of game time. The skill ceiling is definitely absurd in competition & the gameplay is pretty fun with larger FFA or team games. I've found a lot of fun playing games locally in LAN parties or having a team in LAN against many others. Overall the modding community has been what is keeping the game alive the last few years. Uber basically gave up on it almost half a decade ago.
you should note that the game isnt tailored for 1v1s. it is still good and fun to play 1v1s, but the main game is designed for bigger, better fights like, for example 8v8. the most popular maps are made for 8v8 and are the best ways to play the game imo. along side that, there are roles for every player. from eco, front to specific labs like air or sea/hover. you would need to be really good at multitasking to cover all roles solo on a 8v8 map like you played.
Great video of what looks like a great game. Now to see if they can really scratch my TA itch - can I have build a Big Bertha look-a-like and take apart my enemy beyond visual range?
@@Amitay-j5r Fab - will give them a go if I can survive long enough. I tried a simpleAI 3v3 last night and got creamed. Need to get some time in at the gym!
Thanks for the comment, very much appreciated 👍🏻 I still really enjoy old TA (escalation and banzai mods) as well, but BAR is great and has huge momentum behind it! Thanks.
A big reason planetary annihilation didn't do well was that when they pushed the expansion, they deleted the old steam store so people had to purchase the entire game again.
I'll be honest, Planetary Annihilation was THE rts game I was looking forward to the most...big ambition! I'll probably do a review in the future on that one! Thanks.
@@MBGamingReviews Yes, me too. And yet now I can't even play it because they intentionally broke the version I purchased. A lot of people like to say that "oh, they gave access to the new game to anyone who had the old game" They claim they gave that access to people who kickstarted the game. I didn't because I smelled something fishy and purchased it within the first week of it coming out on steam. They claim people who have the game get it for a discount, that is in fact a lie. I do not get a cheaper version. Best part is all of the discussions talking about this can only be accessed by people who have the original version. I recall that shortly before they announced the expansion, the reviews were mostly negative due to the game being a buggy mess. Definitely had nothing to do with them deleting the page and making a new one... Just a happy coincidence that also removed negative reviews and made it almost impossible for them to be reported directly to steam. I will never purchase a game from that company ever again.
Best RTS out there, really. most strategic and tactical depth, most amount of content, free, the best control schemes that i have ever experienced in an RTS... I cant play any other. The fact you can easily play 8v8 games means even multiplayer can be pretty chill cause your contribution is minor.
i tried it not kool or fun graphically very disappointing but im glad you showed me Planetary Annihilation: TITANS this looks really kool i will get this rather
Have you heard/tried another free spiritual succesors to anihilation series Zero-K ? It kinda ruined other games for me due extensive terraformation or that each expolosion creating craters.
Hmmm I’ve got the last of an intel i5 MacBook that probably wouldn’t be able to run this if it did support Mac OS. Coverage for Xbox? Might have to get myself a decent gaming rig one day
you can click and drag units when you move so they move in whatever formation you want, you can even make them move as a square if you wanted. read more about the controls on the website, it will help
Something many people fail to mention and really attracts new player into the genre is that bar doesn't look like it was made in 2007. Which also helps with visual clarity to the point where bar is an enjoyable game to watch.
Totally agree, the Spring engine has been around for a very long time, albeit updated, but BAR are pushing it and bringing more updates shortly as well I.e. day/night cycles. Thanks 👍🏻
This is a lovely game, but "groundbreaking" is not how I would describe it. It's Total Annihilation with the serial numbers filed off and better visuals and UI. Ain't nothing wrong with that, of course. Let's just be honest.
This game is simply another re hashing of older massive rts titles like supcom, PA, and Ashes of the Singularity, its all the same aesthetic that was first setup by TA, everyone tries to claim the title of "spiritual successor" to Total Annihilation but what people don't realize is that by doing that you have killed the rts genre by creating something that simply hasn't been improved on yet, like im looking at this gameplay its literally the exact same as supcom.
MB, look out for any lobbies that might have a SMRT clan member in it for some fun AI games, some might be willing to help get a grasp of the mechanics. :) Great video absolutely love this game :)
i do not enjoy this game cause of how it limits you on effectively using multiple types of factories or even multiples of the same type .. you at best control 1 or 2 types if you don't decide to switch early this is what generally other RTS including SupCom and PA do better in supcom you build ground, air and naval at your leisure as far as the economy allows it PA does the same with the difference that ground is split between bots and vehicles but then further ads orbital as well and there are 1v1 single planet videos where both players utilize almost everything from the unitpool now comes BAR that goes nutts with the amount of factory types, tiers and amount of units you can make use of ... but for some reason the economy and production implementation limits you to use one factory for the longest time before either you decide to go advance on that type or ad a second type
@BestHakase yeah sorry, I'm doing a separate video on Zero K. I spoke about it briefly in my Total Annihilation video. Thanks for the comment and for mentioning Zero K.
Full controller support please. "KB/M only" no longer makes sense today. It just restricts the RTS genre at the desk and gives no option to a controller input that is growing in popularity with PC gamers. - Command & Conquer 3 - Command & Conquer Kane's Wrath - Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 - Age of Empires 4 - Lord of the Rings BMFEII - Universe at War - Supreme Commander 2 - Tom Clancy's End War all on the Xbox have great full working controller schemes (obviously have to being on consoles) - Wheel menu - Expandable quick navigation mini maps - double click and "shift" queue functions. More and more traditional/non-traditional PC RTS games have or been implementing full controller support options: - Iron Harvest - Empire of the ants - Halo Wars 1 and 2 - Age of Mythology Retold - Aliens Dark Descent - Desperado 3 etc.. It helps widen the appeal to a bigger audience if they have the option to play those games just with a controller. Be nice to play all PC games on the couch with ** Handheld ** Gaming PCs now as they are growing fast. *IF* game devs don't have the resources to have full controller support, allow room for modding so it's easier for modders to make full controller UI schemes and mods.
Ah, yes balanced 1vs with aurora requiring t2 transition or winning in correct micro (bar has similar problem with grunts, but you can get different t1 unit, like thug/rockos). Mantis being the best t1 across factions. Cybran water being the best in t1, famous 1v1 balance ;)
come on now....FAF doesnt even have proper collision or object simulation....your units can literally shoot through your own buildings... that makes the game lose so much strategic potential...| obsolete game. Its predecessors and now BAr have been going for 20 years and will outlive FAF since the code is open.

Some responses/answers:
- We're working on a fix for all those range rings to unify (stencil) them a lot more, so your UI will be a lot more clean.
- We have 389 different/unique icons which effectively tell you which each unit is
- We have over 1.250 unique sound effects & voice lines
- We're working on a fully new Lobby/Main menu interface + a fully new/upgraded main in-game UI - which both should probably be massive upgrades
- AI's building ground units on water maps is a known-bug and on the "fix-list"
- We have planned to add much more voice notifications/tutorial voice lines for the voice lady to help new players even more learning each facet/phase.
- We soon will have even more awesome explosions with actual shockwaves, blasts and heat effects
- We are working on a full new revamp of all the lighting (incl. animated lights) in the game, which will be needed for our upcoming day/night feature
- All Construction unit/buildings have the yellow 'building lights' (which will also blip in a new upcoming update) so you can more easily see where they are, and if they are active

Starcraft 64 was enough proof to me that controllers and RTS games don't mix. What makes you think that a complex game with very many inputs needing the ability to quickly do various clicks in various places of the screen is going to be workable on controller?
You hit the algorithm, good luck friend.
@@Stolidpig cheers 🍻
Thanks 👍🏻
BAR OP. Let's go boys
Gameour 👋
Nawh, Skuttle OP, BAR is mid
solid review, probably one of the only reviews to get me to play these types of RTS again :)
Thank you very much! Really appreciate your comment. Hope you enjoy BAR and all its future developments. Cheers
I fucking suck at RTS. Like I am so bad at RTS they just don't click with me. Been playing this game on and off for a year and it is crazy fun. The only RTS I've ever managed to improve at.
Supreme Commander Successor. This and Sanctuary: Shattered Suns(the actual successor)
My economy at that point is so insane that I can build a Jugg in 20 seconds XD
Absolutely unique experience and I 1000% recommend RTS players to give the game a try and have fun with strategies that are truly Beyond All Reason!
Played a few skirmishes and it really takes me back , GREAT JOB
Thank you! 👍🏻
100% Try it for the nostalgia, keep playing because its actually good.
21:38 just saying afaik overwhelming amount of attack range rings was fixed
and also they only appear like that cause of view switching in replay (my guess)
I just recently downloaded this game, can’t believe I went this long without knowing about it.
You know what. I like what i see, so i made sure i hit that like and subscribe button, and even hit the bell so not to miss out on any future videos. Still have to see 60% of video.

"who needs background anyway"
>me who still plays '40k dawn of war' because of the background: *cries*
This is an amazing game. Totally hooked!
Free? Sweet!
Blessed by the algorithm today
Now we just need you to cover Zero-K and contrast it's development fork from Total Annihilation, not so much as a 'instead of' but as a 'complement to' Beyond All Reason. For myself, The game I dream of is BAR with Zero-K's unit AI. I understand why BAR doesn't do that, but I still dream of it.
Thanks for watching my video, much appreciated.
Hold that thought!
man i consider Zero-k required reading for anyone who wants to do RTS, the amount of control you can have without needing 1000APM is fantastic
This game is far and beyond better than most if not ALL paid-for RTS games.
Yes! And in an age of businesses spending $300 million to make games...along comes community funded BAR. Thanks for the comment.
@@argie-443 Thank you fo proving my point.
@@checkbox9884 ? how?
i havent run into any more toxisity then any other game has, your case sounds rough and some people and lobbies do take things serious, but sometimes ppl kick/ban for other reasons like they want a private game.
people say I'm trolling cuz I won a bunch of games with just buy friendgroup but I'm trash in actual multiplayer lol. but like there's also lots of wonderful people that will help you get better too
Great video on a game I have never heard of but will definitely be looking for = ) I just wish someone would do the same for Warzone 2100... an utterly breathtaking and ahead of its time romp back in the day. I have the original on disc. It has a community but it seems to be quite fractured = ( Thanks for the intro = )
@JohnSmith-ud9ex thank you very much, also saw your other comment 😆 thanks again
Well a lot has change last time I try it. improve UI and clean.
This game is massive
Download it and get on board!
I play the sheet out of this game. I’ve been a long time player. GET THIS GAME. It’s free. It’s a blast.
I’m eager to try this out. Everything since StarCraft 2 has been… well, basically “StarCraft 2 but not as good”.
@@panampace 😆 I'm sure you'll enjoy it, plus there's loads of development work going as well. Thanks for the comment 👍🏻
@ I did enjoy it!
It was easy to pick up, thanks to a really clear economy system and great QOL UI improvements.
The strategy is totally different, but it’s gonna be fun to learn.
This looks awesome and had no idea it existed...thanks
actualy a BAR player with 500h+, ty to talk about the game its rly good and the best free rts imo so yeah pretty sad that its not more popular for the lore of the game and all all public friendly interface etc etc are coming with a maybe future steam release :D
if u want to see great gameplay i can recommand you the BrightWorksGaming who is the most popular caster for BAR
It might be interesting, even important, to dedicate a segment to the multiplayer experience and the community life around it (e.g. competitions, the lobby system, etc...). In spite of the usual inconveniences of such online experiences that is what makes this game shine among RTS games.
Thanks for watching the video and the feedback. Yes, something I've probably not given enough attention to in this video. Next time! Thanks
@wishcraft4u2 thanks for the feedback, I'll take that on board for future videos. Much appreciated 👍🏻
@Krydax8 thank you, much appreciated! Glad you are loving the game and thanks for the feedback. 👍🏻
This could become the greatest RTS ever made
The developers are working hard on developing the game engine as well as the game itself. So there is plenty of scale to go! Thanks
Games Workshop needs to pop by this one
I love it. I wish the unit graphics were less cartoony though.
@@kirill2525 i think my biggest issue is finding any friends who even want to touch this game
i cant belive you didnt mention its unique drag for formation mechanic instead of having to micro every unit. uoi also didn't talk about most weapons having ballistics and radar that's blocked by ground and stuff. but over all great vid and I'm a BAR fam myself.
@kirill2525 no worries, I appreciate the feedback, helps me improve future videos. Many thanks 👍🏻
I absolutely loved supreme commander (I sucked at it though) I'll have to check this out!
BAR is so awesome! I've only played RTS casually before with titles like c&c generals back in the day. Tried aoe4 for some time but it never really clicked but Beyond all reason has everything an RTS should have
Planetary annihilation titans is so underated
@joshuabridges1597 to be honest it was THE rts game I was looking forward to the most, it's pretty epic and ambitious. Thanks
Looks a lot like Zero-K, another free fanmade Supcom-like.
It looks like the total annihilation 3d fanmade game thing from years ago
Great video of what looks like a great game. Now to see if they can really scratch my TA itch - can I have build a Big Bertha look-a-like and take apart my enemy beyond visual range?
Yep. "Ragnarok" & "Calamity", known in game as rag or lol cannon are exactly what you are looking for

I still really enjoy old TA (escalation and banzai mods) as well, but BAR is great and has huge momentum behind it! Thanks.
great review! thanks!

The fact you can easily play 8v8 games means even multiplayer can be pretty chill cause your contribution is minor.
i tried it
not kool or fun
graphically very disappointing
but im glad you showed me Planetary Annihilation: TITANS
this looks really kool
i will get this rather
Thanks. Planetary Annihilation was the one game I was looking most forward to, just because of the scale of it.
Thank you for bringing this to attention.
My pleasure!

@@kirill2525 yes you can move them in one direction in formation that you draw. But this is not what i wrote about above.
Cool
Great video! What song is playing 7:00
Nice to see BAR getting the love it deserves.
@ToastedWaffles_ Thank you, and yes it absolutely deserves it! 👍🏻
@@MBGamingReviews you are also contractually obligated to listen to TA's OST when playing BAR; I don't make the rules.

When will the third faction being added?
MB, look out for any lobbies that might have a SMRT clan member in it for some fun AI games, some might be willing to help get a grasp of the mechanics. :)
Great video absolutely love this game :)
Will do!! Many thanks for the comment, much appreciated 👍🏻 😀
It is a gem, since the start, long time solo player, and still play all the classics, the mods keep them alive.
ummm what about Herzog zwei?(1990) Dune 2? (1992) they were made way before total annihilation (1997)
the units look like toys. compared to everything else basically.
very good game
Honestly, total annihilation Kingdom sounds dope of it was modernized
We need more people to see how amazing this game is
Are they planning to make a single player campaign?
In Development 👍🏻
Look, if I wanna play Supreme Commander, I play that game instead of this.
i do not enjoy this game cause of how it limits you on effectively using multiple types of factories or even multiples of the same type ..
you at best control 1 or 2 types if you don't decide to switch early
this is what generally other RTS including SupCom and PA do better
in supcom you build ground, air and naval at your leisure as far as the economy allows it
PA does the same with the difference that ground is split between bots and vehicles
but then further ads orbital as well and there are 1v1 single planet videos where both players utilize almost everything from the unitpool
now comes BAR that goes nutts with the amount of factory types, tiers and amount of units you can make use of ...
but for some reason the economy and production implementation limits you to use one factory for the longest time
before either you decide to go advance on that type or ad a second type
This looks very cool thanks for the info, +1 Sub

Full controller support please.
"KB/M only" no longer makes sense today.
It just restricts the RTS genre at the desk and gives no option to a controller input that is growing in popularity with PC gamers.
- Command & Conquer 3
- Command & Conquer Kane's Wrath
- Command & Conquer Red Alert 3
- Age of Empires 4
- Lord of the Rings BMFEII
- Universe at War
- Supreme Commander 2
- Tom Clancy's End War
all on the Xbox have great full working controller schemes
(obviously have to being on consoles)
- Wheel menu
- Expandable quick navigation mini maps
- double click and "shift" queue functions.
More and more traditional/non-traditional PC RTS games have or been implementing full controller support options:
- Iron Harvest
- Empire of the ants
- Halo Wars 1 and 2
- Age of Mythology Retold
- Aliens Dark Descent
- Desperado 3
etc..
It helps widen the appeal to a bigger audience if they have the option to play those games just with a controller.
Be nice to play all PC games on the couch with ** Handheld ** Gaming PCs now as they are growing fast.
*IF* game devs don't have the resources to have full controller support,
allow room for modding so it's easier for modders to make full controller UI schemes and mods.

I used to love RTS games 15 years ago... its so sad every new one has to look like its made in 2005. I just cant look at these graphics anymore.
in its defense, this is the best rts since AoE2. The genre has been dead since 1999 imo.
7:22 to bad that you will never see so many units in any online matches.99% its like 20vs20 units max.

Ahh yes, the poor man's SupCom FAF... BAR is fun, but if you want something 'serious' and actually balanced 1v1 - go FAF.
@@MeTechmind Cybran has been nerfed into oblivion, and more may come. No issues here as a UEF player ;)
