English: AWM Caption: TRAINEE BECOMES C.O. - GROUP CAPTAIN J.P.J. MCCAULEY, OFFICER COMMANDING NO. 1 FLYING TRAINING SCHOOL, POINT COOK, IS ONE OF THE YOUNGER OFFICERS OF THAT RANK. TRAINED AT POINT COOK AS AN AIR CADET IN 1924, HE IS THE STATION'S FIRST GRADUATE TO RETURN TO IT TO COMMAND. IN THE EARLY MONTHS OF THIS WAR HE WAS ONE OF THE OFFICERS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DETAILED PLANNING OF AUSTRALIA'S SHARE IN THE VAST EMPIRE AIR SCHEME.
