Label Copy: "This important print is from the first series to depict the daily lives of courtesans in the entertainment district of Edo. Published in three volumes, two volumes contained portraits of courtesans with seasonal flowers, and the third contained the courtesans own works of poetry. This album was published by Tsutaya J?zabur? (17501797), who would become Edos most influential publisher of Ukiyo-e prints in the late eighteenth century. It would set the standard for color printing during the last quarter of the eighteenth century."
