Even then, some people will get angry cause "It is there, even if I can chose to not follow that path it still there and thus it is shit".
I know, cause I've seen it, regardless of how strange it looks. Same for neotare, for some people even a dildo is neotare...
So best advice I can give is: Have a plan, communicate with the poeple as much as it make sense and you can and, if you are active here, have a thick skin. You can get great feedback that may help you - I still believe that - but on the other site, you will see a lot of complains going from "false content" to small updates or too few updates to milking and so on. Basically for ever useful comment or advice, I assume you will see more than one that doesn't help you.
So keep your distance and don't let them get to you. If you notice that it become too much take some pause. I do like to have developers on this site and even more the one who also interact, but I'm on the other side of the coin. I've seen enough of developers come and gone on this site and the minority, in my eyes, where it was good that they where gone (in those rare case, some result to manipulation of their own game reviews or other things and some where just very toxics in their behaviour...).
Also read
da rules and additional threads for guidelince (eg. in your case
tags rules and list updated and
game uploading rules). Simple have a look at the
site rules news announcements subforum from time to time. Most of the important stuff is there or you can get it from there if you follow a link.
Last but not least, there is the developer batch - more shiny than my own - but I see it as a double edge sword. You don't need one for making your own game, it helps to recognise that you are a developer and developer of your own game, but it also place you into the spotlight. Everyone will know that you're the dev of a game, so think twice about it.

(Same goes for "owning" the game thread and thus "owing" the opening post too)
