Who Is She (Korean수상한 그녀) is an ongoing South Korean television series starring Kim Hae-sook, Jung Ji-so, Jung Jin-young, and Chae Won-bin. The series is a remake of the 2014 film Miss Granny by Hwang Dong-hyuk, it depicts the story of Oh Mal-soon, a 70-year-old grandmother who suddenly turns into 20-year-old Oh Doo-ri and once again enjoys her shining heyday. It premiered on KBS2 on December 18, 2024, and airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 21:50 (KST).

A grandmother who raised her daughter with great determination by running a noodle restaurant after losing her husband at a young age. Mal-soon, who left home after arguing with her daughter Ji-sook, accidentally returns to her appearance 50 years ago and struggles to fulfill her dream of becoming a singer that she could not achieve in her youth.
She has a youthful face but is also equipped with a sly and bold charm. She is an unpredictable character who goes back and forth between a fresh-faced 20-year-old and a sly 70-year-old, and turns the Jongno area upside down as she appears like a comet. She, who has a grandma-like sensibility, enters Eunice Entertainment and becomes an idol trainee to fulfill her dream of becoming a singer that she could not achieve in her first life.
The leader of the former popular group Ignis and the current executive producer of Eunice Entertainment. He is a genius planner who composes, produces, and sets the album concept as well as the group's image map. While he was on a smooth path as an executive producer, his life is turned upside down when he meets Doo-ri, who has a secret.
Mal-soon's granddaughter. She is a model student who always ranked first in the entire school, gives up the college entrance exam to become a singer, her true dream, and becomes a trainee at Eunice Entertainment.

Ji-sook's husband and the head of a cram school in the old neighborhood. After marrying Ji-sook, whom he met in college, he quits his job and starts a business after hearing his mother-in-law Mal-soon say something, but everything he does fails miserably and he ends up living with his in-laws.
The only daughter of Mal-soon and an executive at a large company. She is a true career woman who has been recognized as a role model for young women, having silently overcome all kinds of injustice and discrimination in a time when even long-term employment was difficult.
The owner of the old school guesthouse and the eternal Mal-soon fan. He has both manners and affection and has had a crush on Mal-soon for a long time.
The living legend of Korean pop music and the national singer. After an incident involving Mal-soon in the past, she has built an incredible career as a singer, rising from strength to strength. She is currently enjoying a new heyday as she leads Eunice Entertainment with her nephew Daniel Han as her right-hand man, but she becomes anxious after accidentally witnessing Mal-soon.

A choreographer and talented dancer, Ho-yi quickly becomes the go-to person at UNIS Entertainment thanks to his sharp instincts. Known for spreading news around the company, he often bickers with Oh Doo-ri, creating unique chemistry between the two.
A performance director and marketing team leader at Eunice Entertainment. A smart and witty 'all-rounder' who is the only trusted partner of producer Daniel Han and is good at everything.

The oldest and only foreign member of the group. She is fluent in Korean after three years of training. Considering Emily to be her closest friend as she was the only person with whom she could speak English, she harbours mixed feelings about Doo-ri, who appears after Emily disappears.
The youngest member of the group who was cast through a teen hip-hop competition.

Development

Developed under the working title Miss Granny, the series is directed by Park Yong-soon, who directed the dramas Secret Mother (2018), Wanted (2016) and Divorce Lawyer in Love (2015), and written by Heo Seung-min, who wrote Risky Romance (2018) and There Is a Blue Bird (2014).[6] It is produced by Studio V Plus, Idea Factory, Higround [ko], and Yein Plus.[1] It is the tenth remake of the 2014 film Miss Granny by Hwang Dong-hyuk.[7]

Casting

On March 3, 2023, Jung Ji-so had been cast as the female lead in the series.[6] On September 15, BB Entertainment told Newsen that they were positively reviewing regarding Jung Jin-young's appearance.[8] According to Seoul Economic Daily Star on September 20, Kim Hae-sook had been confirmed to appear.[9]

On July 9, 2024, the production team of the series announced that Jung, who starred in the original film as young rocker Ban Ji-ha, confirmed his appearance but would play in another role.[10]

Filming

Principal photography began in August 2023,[11] and concluded in first half of 2024.[10]

Release

Who Is She is scheduled to premiere on KBS2 on December 18, 2024, and will air every Wednesday and Thursday at 21:50 (KST).[12]
