Question from Taramayatamang (10:20, 24 November 2024)

[edit]

My article has under review for a long time now, how do i get some one to review it ? --Taramayatamang (talk) 10:20, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Taramayatamang: You don't. The message at the top of the draft tells you that it may take a long time since drafts aren't reviewed in a specific order. Just wait and eventually someone will get to the draft. Rusty 🐈 14:48, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
oh okay, also how do I delete draft ? Taramayatamang (talk) 15:02, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Taramayatamang: If you want to delete a draft you created, insert the template {{db-author}} at the top of the page. Rusty 🐈 15:06, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from AlBadareenYazeed (20:04, 24 November 2024)

[edit]

Hello

Thank you for your support and dedication. Two months ago, I updated Rabdan Academy wikepedia page. I am checking everyday but changes still not reflected yet. Is there any issue needs my attention please? --AlBadareenYazeed (talk) 20:04, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@AlBadareenYazeed: You seem to be undoing your own edit each time you make one to an article. I don't know why that would happen, but it did. Rusty 🐈 21:41, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from TwoAlbert (19:50, 25 November 2024)

[edit]

In editing, am I allowed to remove any content? For example, in the intro section of the Wikipedia page about a company it has a link to a negative press item. It make no sense there. Could I just remove it, or do I need to move it further down the page more as a note? --TwoAlbert (talk) 19:50, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Leon sun 90 (11:31, 1 December 2024)

Hello, mentor. I am a loyal user and enthusiast of Wikipedia from mainland China. I hope to obtain IP block exemption. I hope the processing staff will grant me IP block exemption. Thank you. I will definitely abide by the community rules and actively create valuable content. leon --Leon sun 90 (talk) 11:31, 1 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Leon sun 90: Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! The page on IP block exemption is Wikipedia:IP block exemption. Since you were able to post your question, that means you are able to make an edit and don't need it. Rusty 🐈 14:33, 1 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@News India Group If he is on the news, it is possible. However, you must first change your username, as we do not allow "group" accounts. Accounts may be accessed by one person only. Follow the directions on your talk page for more information. Rusty 🐈 15:51, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

How to see what rank you are? --WikiLearner73 (talk) 23:49, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@WikiLearner73: We don't have the concept of "rank", but yes, there are "user groups"/"rights", and you can see them in your preferences. You can get to preferences by a dropdown in the top right. Rusty 🐈 03:21, 12 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from ThatWolfDog (20:27, 19 December 2024)

[edit]

Hi, I was reading the page on Fred Emery (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Emery) and it appears that the suggested edits, disclaimers, and “if you are looking for” banner is under the name/photo/profile. This is inconsistent with how I’ve seen it done so far. How do I fix this? --ThatWolfDog (talk) 20:27, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@ThatWolfDog: Not sure, but you probably want to make sure that the code for the infobox ({{infobox person|...}} is below all the other templates (such as short description, more citations needed, etc) at the top and directly above the lead section.
This might sound confusing, so feel free to ask if you need further clarification. Rusty 🐈 00:37, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Found it and fixed it. Thanks ThatWolfDog (talk) 03:38, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

What is the impact of LLMs on Wikipedia content? --Leha243312 (talk) 11:36, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Leha243312: Using text from a large language model without verification or disclosure is strongly discouraged on Wikipedia (there's a whole project page on this; Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2024-06-08/Recent research). I don't know much about how LLMs have impacted Wikipedia's content directly, but the advent of LLMs could have been limiting Wikipedia's growth as more people turn to AI for information.
