And here’s the second “Dragonheart” artwork I wanted to share. Both artworks are completely drawn by hand and scanned all new in high resolution. But wow… that’s and old drawing… but I still love it!
This was my first attempt to draw photo realistic with traditional media - it was drawn after a photo after all.
And I guess this is one of the most bleoved scene from the movie anyway!
Drawing media:
color pencils (A4)
Artwork by Patrick Reichel (December 1996)
Oh, cool... it's also the 25th anniversary of that movie!!!

Seeing this, the influence Dragonheart has on your art is pretty obvious. The wa you drew humans back at Circle of Doom looks imilar to how Bowen is drawn here. Also, that pattern of dark, heavily contrasting colours appears in your comics, too.
...drawn this way, I noticed how the original shot implements colour theory through orange and blue.

"Dragonheart" gave me lots of inspiration when it comes to armor and colours, right. I've always drawn humans the same way - despite of any movies. But I've had lots of comic books (MARVEL, IMAGE, etc.) to help me with human features.
This artwork was done in 1996 and at the same time REPTILE was created! ^^
And yeah... orange and blue being complement (??) colours. ^^

Very nice rendition!
I actually had a screenshot of this scene as my desktop background for the longest time back in the early-mid 2000's. Certainly one of the best dragon movies made, in my opinion. Certainly was nice to see a film that actually had an intelligent dragon. Wish there were more movies like that, honestly.
