- Support I might ask why there seems to be an arbitrary jump from the original background to (255,255,255) white though. JJ Harrison (talk) 06:22, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- Comment I intentionally removed the background around the postal note. A few years ago, my Confederate 100 Dollar banknote was a Featured Picture Candidate on the Commons. [1] I was asked to remove the background and closely crop the image on the Confederate banknote. This 5 cent note is currently a Featured Picture Candidate on the Commons. [2] I would appreciate support there. I have scans of 3 cent and 25 cent Fractional Currency that I will upload soon. -- SWTPC6800 (talk) 19:50, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- Support. Good quality. Clegs (talk) 13:33, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- Comment The portrait of Jefferson looks a little washed out compared to the rest of the certificate. Is this as it was originally or is it due to wear or scanning? —Eustress talk 18:15, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- Comment I did another scan with Photoshop Elements and lowered the min-tones. (Histogram adjustment, mid-tone from 1.2 to 1.0.) I uploaded a tiff of the front. File:US Postal Currency 5 cent 1862 front 720b.tif This is closer to the actual note. -- SWTPC6800 (talk) 20:00, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

- Comment I have uploaded the tiff files for the front and back of the note. File:US_Postal_Currency_5_cent_1862_front_720a.tif and File:US_Postal_Currency_5_cent_1862_back_720a.tif I also uploaded tiff files made with different scanner settings, the mid-tones were darkened. (Photoshop Elements, Histogram adjustment, mid-tone from 1.2 to 1.0.)
