The 2024–25 season is the 93rd season in the history of Wigan Athletic Football Club and their second consecutive season in League One. In addition to the domestic league, the club will also participate in the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, and the EFL Trophy.

The 2024/25 season is also the first season where Wigan Athletic are free from the transfer embargo that was placed upon the club by the English Football League, despite Mike Danson's takeover of the club at the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

Pre-season and friendlies

On 16 May, Wigan announced their first three pre-season friendlies, against Accrington Stanley, Chorley and Blackburn Rovers.[36] Four days later, the Latics confirmed a pre-season training camp in Hungary.[37] A fourth friendly was added on May 28, versus AFC Fylde.[38] A further two were later confirmed by the club, versus Tranmere Rovers and Barrow.[39]
