King of the South is an upcoming American biographical musical drama film directed and co-written by Jeff Reyes, based on the American rapper Master P. It stars Wendell Pierce, Queen Latifah and Charlamagne Tha God.

Production
[edit]In August 2015, it was announced that a biographical musical drama film based on the life and career of American rapper Master P was in development, with Jeff Reyes directing, and co-writing with Master P, Romeo Miller, and Tyger Williams. Wendell Pierce, Queen Latifah and Charlamagne Tha God joined the main cast.[1] Principal photography began in the summer of 2017, in New Orleans.[2][3] Filming had wrapped by early 2019, where Lionsgate was revealed to have distributed the film.[4]
