Sample Box Art/Caption

[edit]

At present, the caption to the sample box art states:

"Typical example of Atarisoft packaging. The predominantly red cover of Centipede corresponds to the Apple II format."

Couple things here:

  • The box art isn't "predominantly red" but orange (or are my eyes going?)
  • This particular coloring corresponds not only the Apple II, but also the ColecoVision, and I believe some other platform from the era (which escapes me at the moment)

Any objections to rewording this caption? D. Brodale 18:36, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Silly me, the third platform tagged with orange is mentioned in the article body, the TI-99/4A. D. Brodale 18:38, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

IBM ports

[edit]

The article referred to all the IBM releases as "IBM PC DOS". That is incorrect; all of them were on self-booting disks except Stargate (which doesn't appear to have been released commercially; I have a copy that says "Public Domain by Atari" on the title screen) and Pole Position (released by Thunder Mountain in 1987). It also speaks of some games having PCjr releases. No Atarisoft title was released for the PCjr, and if there were plans for any, they never saw the light of day. 208.101.132.85 (talk) 21:36, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreleased Games

[edit]

The Announced but Never Released list mentions Crystal Castles but the game was released by U.S. Gold on at least two of the platforms mentioned. Maybe this could be clarified in the article. DavidBoddie (talk) 13:11, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure how that relates, it wouldn't have been the Atarisoft version of the game. Those were later licenses. --Marty Goldberg (talk) 18:58, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
