grassroots
[edit]there are grassroots efforts to create a new Futurist Party. This may not be notable, yet. Michael Ten (talk) 20:07, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
political alignment
[edit]considering the policies being laid out in this article and citing Martinetti's politics and his rocky relations with the Fascist movement and its eventual reactionary elements, shouldn't it just be considered more "left" than far-right? the only thing linking it with the label would be the fact that they merged with the Fascist party, and that's discounted by what's already been said here. How does a party that profess futurist democracy be "right-wing" instead of "syncretic"?
The ideas and political proposals of the Futurists, expressed from the pages of Futurist Rome, are collected by Marinetti in the volume Futurist Democracy (1919), including:
Abolition of marriage and the traditional family. Children should be allowed to be raised by the state with funds obtained from a "filiatic tax," a tax on free love. "Abolition of marital authorization. Easy divorce. Gradual devaluation of marriage for the gradual advent of free love and the state child."
Bureaucratic decentralization and abolition of seniority in state careers.
Abolition of the right of inheritance.
"Technical government without a senate and with an Excitatory," i.e., a youth council consisting of twenty citizens under the age of 30 elected by direct universal suffrage. "Transformation of Parliament by equal participation of industrialists, farmers, engineers and merchants in the government of the country. The minimum age limit for deputation will be reduced to 22. A minimum of lawyer deputies (always opportunists) and a minimum of professor deputies (always backward). A Parliament cleared of wimps and scoundrels. Abolition of the Senate.
If this rational and practical Parliament does not give good results, we shall abolish it in order to arrive at a technical Government without Parliament, a Government composed of 20 technicians elected by universal suffrage. We will replace the Senate with a Control Assembly composed of 20 young people not yet 30 years old elected by universal suffrage."
Social shareholding.
Land reform and introduction of the land value tax
Money to fighters.
Gender equality in labor and participation in the political life of the country. "Equal participation of all Italian citizens in government. Equal and direct universal suffrage for all male and female citizens."
Proportional representation
Anticlericalism "of action, violent and precise."
Abolition of military conscription and establishment of a light army of volunteers.
Establishment of "schools of courage and patriotism"
Prison reform and abolition of the political police.
