Infobox images

[edit]

There's too many images in the infobox, the images are too small to be meaningful (stitched together into a single image that's inconvenient to access), and the use of the imagemap isn't great I think. The imagemap prevents you from clicking each image to zoom in. The articles for each battle are already accessible in the captions. Think replacing the imagemap with a {{multiple image}} would be better. Fewer images too. seefooddiet (talk) 19:06, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed the problem with the images in the infobox, as well as the links. If needed, please restore the links and/or image in case objected to. Thank you.

An apparent anomaly

[edit]

"The Austrians began the war by invading Bavaria on 8 September 1805 with an army of about 70,000 under Karl Mack von Leiberich, and the French army marched out from Boulogne in late July 1805 to confront them." This passage suggests a direct causal link between the incursion into Bavaria in September and the movement of troops from Boulogne in July. This surely is either mistaken or misleading. Bias

[edit]

The second sentence puts the blame for the Napoleonic wars on France, "The wars originated in political forces arising from the French Revolution". That would be the English point of view. In fact the term 'Napoleonic wars' already is biased. Still today people are taught the English propaganda that Napoleon was small, which he was not. Then in the next paragraph the article states "The first stage of the war broke out when Britain declared war on France on 18 May 1803, alongside the Third Coalition". Without background information this implies England is actually to blame. Aoosten (talk) 10:27, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Marshal Ney in the list of Coalition leaders

[edit]

Should Ney really be on the infobox as a commander for both sides? He only served with the Bourbons for a year, never fought any battles for them and rejoined Napoleon at the first opportunity. Plus there were other marshals, like MacDonald and Berthier who stayed loyal to the Bourbons, yet they aren't on the Coalition commanders list. LordAlb (talk) 11:08, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I concur, in fact I feel as though the entire Commanders and leaders section is clunky and difficult to navigate. 90.212.162.127 (talk) 18:25, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and made some changes to the infobox to try and make it easier to navigate. Hope it helps. LordAlb (talk) 16:49, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
