I have created a new article in Paw Paw Tunnel/Temp which no longer contains the copyright material or the copyvio notice. –Shoaler (talk) 16:21, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
I'm updating the entry with geo coordinates for the parking lot and both tunnel entrances, based on pushpin locators and Google Earth satellite photos. I'm not sure how to credit this, or if it's acceptable. However, it appears that (at least) Google Maps can give valid directions to the parking lot based on this coordinate pair, which I would have found useful a couple of days ago. Coordinate error
[edit]{{geodata-check}}
The coordinates need the following fixes:
- 39° 33′ 20″ N, 78° 27′ 46″ E should be 39° 33′ 20″ N, 78° 27′ 46″ W

- You're always welcome to make corrections. That is the point of Wikipedia. Bitmapped (talk) 06:01, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- Fixed by Bitmapped, thanks. Best regards, TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 14:08, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
Coordinate error
[edit]{{geodata-check}}
The following coordinate fixes are need for Paw Paw tunnel, the correct coordinates (39° 33.20' N 78° 27.46' W) are posted in Wikipeda, but when you click on any of the links to open in GE it places you miles to the southeast ( 39° 8.025'N 77° 53.429'W) Wayne Foster (Hurk27)
- Declined — Coordinates are correct. All Google mapping apps will sometimes give improper results when given correct results from Wikipedia, but the problem is with Google, not with Wikipedia. If you'll use Acme or Wikimapia, the results will be correct. In Google Earth, the "w/ meta data" link in GeoHack is far less likely to give improper results than the regular link, but even it will sometimes give an improper result. The meta data link in this case does give a proper result. Best regards, TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 19:59, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
"Longest"
[edit]I removed the (frankly absurd) claim that this is one of the longest canal tunnels in the world. There does not yet seem to be a global list of canal tunnels, and List of canal tunnels in the United Kingdom is not sortable, but includes a number (at least 8) of tunnels built around 1800 that are up to 5 times as long. Possibly this is the longest canal tunnel in the US, which would be noteworthy? Imaginatorium (talk) 08:17, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
