Radu Golescu
- ... that Wallachian statesman Radu Golescu (pictured), who agreed to work with Russian occupiers in 1806, was described by them as "immeasurably thirsty for wealth, and mean-spirited"? Created by Dahn (talk). Self-nominated at 20:05, 12 July 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Radu Golescu; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.
- Article: new enough (created about three days before the nomination), long enough, and is within policy. The inline citation is plentiful.
- Hook: both are satisfactory. ALT1 is especially funny, and getting taxed is quite an experience appealing to a broad audience.
- Other: QPQ confirmed. The picture of Golescu is slightly blurry under close scrutiny, but it shows well at small size and that's all we need.
- Conclusion:. As I cannot access the sources or read Romanian, I pass this DYK with good faith, given the strong editing history of the nominator. Excellent article! --TheLonelyPather (talk) 19:39, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
