About me

  • Name: Darren
  • Wikipedia Status: Active

Darren-M regularly fell down a rabbit hole reading Wikipedia as a teenager, opening more and more tabs to 'read later' until he lost all track of time. He originally thought editing Wikipedia was geeky and boring, before admitting in January 2019 that maybe he was geeky and boring.

A picture of my ginger and white kitten
Like any good internet user, he tries to post pictures of his kittens in as many places as possible. He also blames them for any edits he makes that don't make sense.

Wikipedia interests

He enjoys helping out new editors in the English Wikipedia IRC help channel. He has some thoughts about how editors can be more effective at helping new users. If you have your own thoughts about how we can support new editors more effectively - or if you think he hasn't followed his own guidance - please reach out to him. He doesn't promise to be right all the time, but he does promise to listen.
