License tagging for Image:67746 228 600.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:67746 228 600.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:05, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Hallo

[edit]

Hi, dear Casiraghis. Welcome to Wikipedia 217.233.228.110 19:39, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Yob Culture, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Yob Culture. You may remove the {{dated prod}} template, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. tgheretford (talk) 17:41, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, no probs regarding its deletion. What you could do is edit the page and create a redirect the page to that other page you mention. It'll help other people in the future. Details on how to create a redirect is here: Wikipedia:Redirect. Just one last thing, sign any discussion on talk pages with four tildes at the end (~~~~) so people know who said what. And finally, as you joined recently, welcome to Wikipedia. --tgheretford (talk) 18:00, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hi there. In response to your post on my talk page, I found the page you need which tells you how to make the link, which is here: Wikipedia:Interlanguage links. You'll need to know the title for the Gråsten Palace article in German Wikipedia and the two language code you need is de. The link will appear below the toolbox on the left hand side of the page. You may wish to add a link in the German article back to the English article. Regards. --tgheretford (talk) 15:59, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Athina Onassis

[edit]

I noticed that you have moved the Athina Roussel article to Athina Onassis. On wikipedia if you wish to move an article you have to put it up for a vote, and then it will be moved which you did not do. Also regardless of wheather she leagally changed her name, we name articles as the person is most commonly known. There are many people on wikipedia who are not listed under their legal or married names. Please move the article back to Athina Roussel, and if you wish to have it moved open it up for a discussion. Thank-You Mac Domhnaill 00:49, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for moving the article back. however if you still feel it should be moved feel free to put it up for a vote. Mac Domhnaill 04:20, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just a heads up you have to be careful with English and Scottish titles as they are rather different animals. A baron in Scotland is a feudal title in England it is a peerage. The Scottish equiv of the English barony title is a Lordship - Lord X never, Baron X. Lord Huntingtower is a Scottish Lordship. Also as matters of editing you shouldn't sign comments or amendments on the article itself but by all means add comments to the talk page if you feel people need to be aware of something., We also include the title, even courtesy, in the name. Alci12 16:15, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you look at the page for John Grant, Lord Huntingtower you will notice that one or two of my citations (London Times) refer to him as a Baron, and also say his mother is "Baroness Huntingtower." Is it correct for an English publication to call a Scottish lord this way? No, the times is wrong. As English, Irish and British peerages use baron someone has just been careless. See Burkes where they list lordships as lord but baronies as baron. The Countess's entry [1] -v- a British title (barony) [2] -v- a Scottish peer who holds both a British barony (baron stonehaven) and a scottish lordship (of Keith) [3]. We don't have notes on any other Scottish title to explain this leaving it to articles like Lord_of_Parliament Alci12 18:07, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
From 1707-1963 Scots peers elected 12 of their number (including Lordships) to sit in the House of Lords. From 63-99 they all had an automatic seat in the HoL. From 99- they can be among the 92 elected hereditary peers in the HoL. Being a representative peer is not a disqualification for standing for the Scottish parliament only the British parliament. [edit]

Can I just ask you when you make a page, not to sign it as you have been doing. Only comments left by yourself on TalkPages should be signed. Pages you create are not 'owned' by you, and should never be signed. Thanks. --Berks105 17:26, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ineffable3000 Casiraghitrio! And welcome to the WikiProject on U.S. Supreme Court cases. It's great to have you on board!--Kchase T 20:58, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for the welcome, but I am not Ineffable3000. I am glad to be on this WikiProject though. It's good to see such an active community of legal-information hunters. I posted this question on another talk page but haven't gotten a reply, so I will ask you, as maybe you can shed some light. What do you think about starting a WikiProject just for Civil Rights cases, like or especially for desegregation cases, a particular interest that I have? I don't know how to start WikiProjects, and I don't know that I would start one if I knew how, simply because I don't want to impose it.
But I hope that it might be possible somehow. I would love to see articles for all notable desegregation cases on Wikipedia someday! -- Ashley Rovira 21:05, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry. I'm getting lazy with cut and paste. Given how much the regular SCOTUS case project is sleeping, I don't think it would get much attention, but read over Wikipedia:WikiProject and see if there are others who want to participate. Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals would be a good litmus test of interest. I would join, but I probably wouldn't be very active. It's been months since I've written a SCOTUS case article.--Kchase T 21:23, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's ok. I am not offended about the copy-paste error. I just thought you might have meant to leave a message on another user page. But it's cool that you took the time to one-line and correct it. Thank again, and also thanks for the tip. I will give it more thought and research before actually taking any action, though. I want to gain some more Wiki experience before I go creating projects! --Ashley Rovira 21:32, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation

[edit]

Hello, I have been reading your very nice contributions. I would like to extend you an invitation to join us at WP:TIMETRACE. What we help with is:

  • Where dates or periods are mentioned that are important to the article's subject, we see that those are clear, accurate and have citations to reliable sources
  • When an article's subject should have its orgins and development described, we see that the article has a history section and that this is accurate and has reliable sources.

You can read why this is important and more information at WP:TIMETRACE. You don't need to dedicate special time to this, you may for example, while editing diverse articles, check if they have sources in their history or chronology (or when they mention any important date. If they don't, you can either fix it if you have that information, or you can place inline {{Timefact}} calls where those citations to sources are missing, this will display [chronology citation needed]. There are also other resources and templates you can use, just visit us to know more. We will be very glad if we can count with your help. Regards Daoken 08:26, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Prince Carlo, Duke of Calabria

[edit]

Hello, I noticed you made the article Prince Carlo, Duke of Calabria. Although he will one day be claimant to the throne of Two Sicilies, his father Prince Ferdinand, Duke of Castro although 81 years old is still alive and thus is still the pretender for that side.

His Royal Highness Prince Carlo of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Calabria, is the Hereditary Prince of the Royal House ofBourbon Two Sicilies. As such His Royal Highness will at some future date succeed his father, HRH The Duke of Castro as Head of the Royal House of Bourbon Two Sicilies and as Grand Master of the internationally recognised dynastic orders pertaining to the Royal House.[4]

As far as I can see this is right? So the article on Prince Carlo should reflect that this is a future thing for him? - Animagentile (talk) 06:50, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK I've realised what was wrong. On the Infante Carlos, Duke of Calabria article it said "Carlos is one of two claimants to the title of Head of the Royal House of the Two Sicilies; the other claimant is Prince Carlo, Duke of Calabria." which was what I meant to say in the first message was wrong. I've now replaced "Prince Carlo" with "Prince Ferdinand" on the "Infante Carlos" article. - Animagentile (talk) 07:00, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Philadelphia Poison Ring

[edit]

Hello, My name is Marc Petrillo. My Great-Grandfather was Paul Petrillo. I was looking at your page and reading some of the information you had posted about the Ring my great-grandfather had done, and I just wanted to correct you on a couple things.

In total it was 114 Total people killed from the Poison Ring.

Morris Bolber is not Pauls cousin, he is a Russian immagrant that came to New York City for a fresh start. He was a teacher and opened a grocery store in NYC. Once the depression hit he then moved to Philadelphia for yet another fresh start with his family. He ended up getting boys ready for their bar mitzvahs.

My Grandfather (Armand Petrillo SR, Member of the Knights of columbus) Had just recently passed away, and we were going through his stuff and we had found books of the trials, notes, and old newspapers of his father's "Work". My Grandfather never spoke to anyone about his father and whenever we would ask we got the response, "I don't know he died when I was 11-12, stop asking me." He said it in a voice as though he knew and didn't want any of us to know. Not sure if this is relevant at all but, there are several families we are friends with the names like, Petroll, Petrill, and Petrilla. We had just recently found out from the books we found that the people who were related to Paul Petrillo were so ashamed of what he and Herman (his cousin) Were doing, that they had changed their last names so they would never be thought of as being related to them. (Herman's Family changed their last name to Petroll) In the diary that my Great-Grand Mother kept while all of this was going on had said that Temple College had actually kicked out a couple people with the last name of Petrillo so that Temple would not be associated with the Petrillo family at all.

My grandmother who had just recently told us that she knew the books were there and read some of them. She didn't know what they were till she read far enough and got scared of what would happen if the books got out to everyone. So she put them in a box and hid it so none of the kids would find it.

We had found out about this when my Grand Father died, (March 18, 2009), My Dad (Armand Petrillo JR) had asked one of his cousins if they knew anything about Armand Petrillo SR's Dad. They said "OH, You don't know?", They told him and he was shocked and didn't think it was true. He tried to find information on it and asked his mom if she knew anything and thats when we found out about the books in the attic.

Well I am sorry I wrote A LOT lol but I just wanted to let you know the information I had found out. If you would like to contact me feel free. Just send me an e-mail at xXx2fast4u90xXx@yahoo.com and I will be more than happy to respond. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marc Petrillo (talkcontribs) 23:44, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Eugenie Niarchos requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb (talk) 04:40, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Above (magazine)

[edit]

The article Above (magazine) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Initially tagged for SD as no evidence of notability and unreferenced. As contested have changed to a PROD to give a chance. Currently fails WP:NOTABILITY in my opinion.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello Casiraghitrio! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Repossi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi there,

I hope this message finds you well! My name is Scott, and I work with a project called SCALES, out of Northwestern University (https://scales-okn.org). We recently received a grant from the National Science Foundation to create a national resource for enabling access to court records and increasing the transparency of the justice system. Here's a paper we published recently in Science discussing the goals of our project, as well as an introductory video.

As you've contributed to the Supreme Court cases WikiProject, I wanted to reach out and inquire into how this SCALES corpus might be useful to you as an editor. We have a great deal of data and metadata about cases in the federal court system that could improve lots of stubs and B-/C-class articles (something I'm personally excited about, since in my brief teenage Wikipedia-editing heyday I was often drawn to working with stubs and new articles...) And in general, I think the SCALES platform will be a powerful tool for empowering citizens to understand the judiciary and its impact on the country, a priority I know many of us share in this topic space.

Let me know if you're interested in talking further and helping us understand how we can work with you. Thanks for your time!

All best,

Scott —Preceding undated comment added 21:53, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Città dell'arte Fashion: Bio Ethical Sustainable Trend has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline nor the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (products) requirement. WP:BEFORE did not reveal any significant coverage on Gnews, Gbooks or Gscholar. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. LA to FA 2022

Dear Casiraghitrio,

You're invited to a zoom call, taking place on February 11, with the goal of improving the article on Los Angeles to Featured article status! I often find it daunting to approach the Big Subjects on my own—so if you, like me, want a time to sit down with fellow dedicated editors and tackle something important and complex, this is the zoom for you! I, unfortunately, have no way to transmit snacks over zoom; but I trust you to exercise good judgement and discretion in selecting snacks of your own. Hope to see you there—if you're interested, add your name here!
