Kenopsia (new page review)

[edit]

Hi, Joseywales1961. I was wondering if you were still actively reviewing Kenopsia. If so, I was wondering what your thoughts were. I did a bit of digging, and Wiktionary removed their entry five years ago for lack of attestation. Moreover, any mentions I can find of the word 'kenopsia' whatsoever are trivial and/or unreliable (such as in a horoscope or in a brief mention in a journal article), and almost every one of these links back to a single Tumblr post (the journal article mention included).

As it stands, I borderline don't think this even belongs somewhere like Wiktionary, let alone Wikipedia. However, I won't interfere if you're still in the process of reviewing. TheTechnician27 (Talk page) 02:09, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

TheTechnician27, Hi, I passed on that one and tagged it more references without approving for much the same reasons as you. Feel free to CSD/Prod/AfD and thanks for mentioning it to me JW 1961 Talk 11:43, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ITN recognition for Manfred Gerstenfeld

[edit]

On 28 February 2021, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Manfred Gerstenfeld, which you updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. SpencerT•C 02:02, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Joseywales1961,

I had just started the Alexandra Lapierre page (I have a lot to add), but I noticed a problem with the heading where her last name somehow appeared with a lower case l. So I didn't continue and wanted to correct or delete it, which I couldn't. If you can correct this, I will continue to add to the page. Also, in the past I had created several Wikipedia pages, and in each case I had time to edit before they were reviewed. When I click 'Publish changes' does the page become 'live'? Thank you for your help, Waverley123 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Waverley123 (talk • contribs) 19:33, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Waverley123, I have removed the deletion tag as requested and Changed the page title, unfortunately when you hit publish the page then comes up on new pages feed so if you are slowly making an article its probably best to make it as Draft:xxx (that way it won't get tagged by patrollers. There is no set time for an article to be patrolled and so if an article without citations appears it is very likely to be tagged within 10 minutes. I wish you well with the article. Article Creation

[edit]

Thenks for checking out on me and also for correcting some of the mistakes I may have made.Am greatful to you. Victorcheloti (talk) 10:20, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Victorcheloti, Welcome to wikipedia. It's a good idea for new editors to make their first few article in draft (call it Draft:xxxxxx where xxxxxx is the name of the future article) That way it doesn't appear on our list of new articles for checking until it is ready - see also WP:AFC for article creation help). Note that drafts coluld be deleted if they violate copyright or are some other forms of un-encyclopedic content. I hope you enjoy your editing here and best wishes. Re deletion tag Joseph Blaszkow

[edit]

3/11/21 Please explain why you are trying to delete a page that I created. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BlauGraf (talk • contribs) 15:23, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi BlauGraf this page was tagged for deletion as it fails to show why the subject is notable - see notability requirements WP:NOTABILITY, it is a biography of a living person with no reliable 3rd party sources - see WP:BLP and WP:RS. Also with the link to a commercial website it would be considered advertising. Hope that helps and best wishes JW 1961 Talk 15:30, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also note that notability is not inherited, they have to be notable in their own right and not just the son/daughter/spouse etc., of someone whose notability is established. Thanks JW 1961 Talk 15:35, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Response - the attorney is the first one to receive a punitive damages award in Virginia. The internet is big enough that you do not need to delete my articles! I tried writing one before about a police department, and it was erased. This is unconscionable! I thought this was supposed to be an open source platform. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BlauGraf (talk • contribs) 16:09, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
But Wikipedia is an encyclopedia where notability and reliable sourcing are required, especially for articles about living people. There are hundreds of articles deleted daily, both newly written and older articles and those would be written by new and seasoned users. In any event I don't have the last say on whether the article is kept or deleted, an admistrator will review the tag and the article in the next few hours. Thank you JW 1961 Talk 17:35, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

SKYGRiD Construction Inc.

[edit]

Hello Joseywales1961!

I have already contested the speedy deletion-advertising message for SKYGRiD Construction Inc. If there is anything that I can do do further help with this page I just created in not being deleted, please reach out to me! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevenkm119 (talk • contribs) 22:45, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stevenkm119, Hi, as it is written it reads llike a press release for the Company, you would need to re-write the tone of the article - see WP:NPOV and WP:SPAM you would also need to add references from reliable third party sources such as a major national news site (not just a passing mention of the company and not interviews with the company staff) - see WP:RS - Its a good idea for a new editor to create the article in draft form and have it reviewed for problems before it goes live and gets picked up for problems by the new page reviewers - see WP:AFC, also for further help in creating articles you can visit the Teahouse. Hope some of that helps, Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for contributing. JW 1961 Talk 22:56, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Stevenkm119 I just read your Contested Deletion and see that you are connected to the company, in that case you must also disclose your Conflict of Interest (see WP:COI, WP:DISCLOSE and whether you are paid by that company to edit an article about them WP:PAID - I'll put the notice on your talk page.JW 1961 Talk 23:03, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Joseywales1961 I will work on re-writing the tone asap. I will also add references to reliable third party sources. I would hate to see this page taken down especially after spending 3/4 hours on it today - is there a way for you to make it a draft (unpublish essentially) so I can work on it without having to redo everything please?
Stevenkm119 The current article is listed for deletion so will have to go through that process, you can make a copy in Draft and paste in any of the content you want to keep (and note that even if an article is deleted you can ask for the contents to be sent back to you to re-work if it comes to that let me know and I'll help you out JW 1961 Talk 23:30, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Joseywales1961 I think I just created it - can you confirm if I did it properly? The reason I'm asking is as I'm headed offline for the weekend - I don't want to come back and have the page and all my work gone. Here is the link - I believe it is just a draft, correct? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:SKYGRiD_Construction_Inc.
Yes It's created I'll put AFC and in-use tags on it to let people know its under construction, have a nice weekend JW 1961 Talk 23:39, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. While there is a common observation that "Any new article with exactly the same name as its creator can almost always be immediately deleted as CSD A7", I think in this case, it was a simple case of creating a userpage and putting it in the wrong namespace. I've moved it to userspace where I think it belongs. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:03, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Could you please review these pages? Thanks.

Thank you. Paul Vaurie (talk) 19:21, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Paul Vaurie, The last two are already reviewed, I reviewed Fabrice Vandeputte (nice article, thanks for creating) the first one I will have to leave as I don't usually review articles about youtubers, some other reviewer will be along with more knowledge in that area, don't worry about how long it takes as we don't look in any particular order, all the reviewers pick the ones they know they can verify properly (which is why I usually look at footballers, military, geography and some and things I'm interested in and know a bit about) JW 1961 Talk 20:23, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Josey. I have removed your a7 tag at Ali Wario. New page patrol practice is to wait at least 15 minutes before tagging for A7 so that the article has time to develop and to avoid BITING. In this case it appears Wario is a sitting member of the Kenyan parliament which would make him notable. If this article doesn't develop in a reasonable time please feel free to reinsert the tag. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 19:21, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

About article approval

[edit]

Hello there,

Thanks for approving Max Marlow (disambiguation). I think you recognized my effort that I'm trying to fix all the mess with related to one name Max Marlow. I found there are 3 of them scattered around in Wikipedia so I created there pages as they are notable enough to add. Even Max Marlow (filmmaker) page has cites from Forbes still user named Theroadislong just keep denying everything right away, I don't know what's wrong with this guy. There are millions of articles on Wikipedia with literally no cites and here I am trying to write some decent articles after hours of research on Google with proper cites and he just denied the creation within 3-5 seconds of my submission ... I am sure he is not even reading or looking at these. Kindly help me here.— Preceding unsigned comment added by BeLucky (talk • contribs) 23:12, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

BeLucky, Hi and thank you for your contributions. The disambiguation page is fine. User Theroadislong is a very experienced Articles for Creation WP:AfC assessor and New Page Reviewer WP:NPP and as the article is draft I do not have the rights to accept it/deny it (I only patrol new pages in the main space). However it is safer in draft in that it won't be speedily deleted and you would have 6 months to work on it. It would be useful to look at WP:Notability (music) and WP:Reliable sources to make sure you are complying with those concerns before moving it to main space or submitting it for review. Hope some of that is helpful for you and best wishes. JW 1961 Talk 22:53, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I made errors—my intention was to rename “Kapauanuakea” to “Kapau-a-Nuakea”. The former isn’t correct. I apologise. If you have authority, please delete the misleading redirect “Kapauanuakea”. V. K. (talk) 22:55, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lord Valensus, Hi I see an admin made the incorrect page into a redirect, so that's ok - redirects of misspelled names are useful in case a reader also misspells the name when looking for an article, if it is an implausable re-direct it can be nominated for deletion JW 1961 Talk 10:00, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
