Hello Kimon/Archive/Archive05!

You are cordially invited to participate in WikiProject Christianity

The goal of WikiProject Christianity is to improve the quality and quantity of information about Christianity available on Wikipedia. Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Florida articles needing infoboxes, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Florida articles needing infoboxes has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Florida articles needing infoboxes, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 03:41, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

WikiProject Heraldry and vexillology

Welcome! You know Wikipedia, so I'm not going to say much, except that there is not one single article that can't be improved. The are infoboxes (flag and coat of arms respectively) and a userbox. Pages for flags are almost all at places like Flag of Chile, for example, and coats of arms are at Coat of arms of Chile. Thanks, - Jarry1250 [ humourousdiscuss ] 16:23, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Kimon! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 12 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Dave Kleiman - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

br

Doesn't <br> work? --Falcadore (talk) 00:36, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

That's not really an answer. If br without the slash works, why change it? What is the benefit apart from millimetric correctness? --Falcadore (talk) 01:17, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
OK, yes it is correct syntax, but it does not improve Wikipedia's functionality is also unneccesarrily creating additional copies of every page that is altered, taking up extra space on Wikipedia's servers. By all means pick these edits up if you have another reason for visiting an article and making corrections for other reasons, but otherwise it is wasteful of Wikipedia's ever stretching resources. --Falcadore (talk) 01:42, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

The creator removed your SD, but I've PRODed it. There is a 'side effect' known as Keppra Rage, but the article can't stand as it is. I've raised concerns of OR, WP:MEDICAL and unencyclopaedic. Peridon (talk) 21:05, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Orphan tags

Hi. You placed orphan tags on some glacier articles, several of which were linked to by two mainspace articles. These Antarctic glaciers are not the sort of articles that are generally going to have lots of links to them so I believe leaving orphan tags on them is not worth it. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Giakoumelos, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Seigneur (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Non-free rationale for File:Constantine andreou - geisha.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Constantine andreou - geisha.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:45, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
