About the changes in Indonesia-Malaysia Confrontation article
[edit]Hello, My name is Zed Hyea, I want to talk about the changes I made in the Indonesia-Malaysia confrontation article. In that article I am making changes to the result of the war, actually, the results of the war can be written as "Indonesia-Malaysia peace agreement", This can be said this because the war ended not because of the inability of the Indonesian military to fight, but because Sukarno stepped down from the presidency due to the 30 September Movement led to Suharto's rise as president and ended the war with a conference in Bangkok that made the peace agreement on August 11 colored by Sukarno's objections even though he no longer had a position in the country. From this, we can see that the end of the war was not due to the defeat of Indonesia but because of the peace agreement by Soeharto. In that way, I beg you to accept the changes made to the results of the confrontation. Thank you for your Attention.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Zed Hyea (talk • contribs) 10 June 2020
- Thanks for posting, Zed Hyea. Sorry, but I should have written a clearer edit summary. When I wrote, "Please discuss rationale for this change on the talk page...", I meant at Talk:Indonesia–Malaysia confrontation rather than my own talk page.
Is it okay with you if I copy our discussion so far to that page? Lars Pria
[edit]Nice job not bothering to notify me of the AFD.--Seacactus 13 (talk) 22:24, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Well, Seacactus 13, firstly, it wasn't a planned ambush. I was whizzing through the steps at WP:AFD and skipped a couple of optional ones (you'll notice I forgot to list it at any WikiProjects). From memory, I glanced at the article history and made a quick decision, mistaken in hindsight, that recently active editors such as yourself most likely had the page on their watchlists. I'll try to be more diligent in future about notifying other users. In return, if you could read WP:CYC/N and think twice before adding blanket red links for cyclists such as those at Nero Continental. And if you think you have a case for the Lars Pria article being restored, try WP:DRV. Finally, it would be good if you could drop the sarcasm. Meticulo (talk) 01:36, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
George Pell "with good reason"
[edit]Dear Meticulo, be a bit more meticulous and read the article before interfering. For example this passage: "In his preliminary remarks during sentencing, [Chief Judge] Kidd mentioned examples of a "witch-hunt" or "lynch mob" mentality in relation to Pell during the lead-up to his conviction." So what is your point?Retal (talk) 13:48, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
- My point is that adding the phrase "With good reason" so the sentence commences "With good reason, Pell has complained..." makes it read as editorialising, almost as much as if you'd added "And he is correct". See WP:IMPARTIAL, particularly "The tone of Wikipedia articles should be impartial, neither endorsing nor rejecting a particular point of view." Meticulo (talk) 15:59, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

"The directors, producers and screenwriters were named." That statement sounds way too ambiguous. That's why I deleted it. Maxbmogs (talk) 15:56, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

Banner headline tags not helpful
[edit]You recently placed a "more citations needed" tag at Radio-frequency identification which had 141 footnotes at the time. I'm genuinely curious, where do you see a need for more citations? If anything, this article needs less citations as it is over-detailed and over-fixated with industry trivia. Your opinions would be of interest. --Wtshymanski (talk) 23:25, 19 July 2021 (UTC)

Happy to discuss why you are opposed to the changes. Your name suggest spanish heritage (meticulo), and I wonder what your connection to this article is? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Voice For The Unheard (talk • contribs) 16:47, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
- To my knowledge, I don't have any Spanish heritage at all. My username is the result of taking the word meticulous, something to which a Wikipedia editor should aspire, and turning it into the name of a character who might appear in a Shakespearean comedy. As for my connection to the article, I was checking the Recent Changes page last night, and among the problematic edits I happened to see and revert was this one. Let's go to Talk:Hispaniola and discuss it further there. Meticulo (talk) 14:37, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

TULI KUPFERBERG IN THE WOBBLIES
[edit]Hello, Meticulo. Thank you for reaching out.
Your edit: I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Industrial Workers of the World, but you didn't provide a reliable source. As matter of fact, I know Tuli joined the Wobblies around the late 30's. I'm working on a Kupferberg biography and know more about him than Wikipedia does. This information has been confirmed by friends and family of my subject and you can find a quick source of it in an article written by journalist Benito Villa on pleasekillme.com . Western Australia highest temperature
[edit]It's a bit much to accuse someone of vandalism for just changing a temperature when the sentence immediately prior says "The highest observed temperature of 50.7 °C (123.3 °F) was recorded in Onslow on 13 January 2022." Steelkamp (talk) 14:56, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
- In my defence, I looked for a citation in the template itself, found nothing, and took it to be a case of subtle vandalism. I've added a secondary source to the template to guard against others making the same mistake. Meticulo (talk) 08:42, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Jack Gance
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jack Gance requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Streetlampguy301 (talk) 20:17, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
- I see the request for speedy deletion has been declined, with the reason 'The page disambiguates two articles (not zero or one) both of which mention "Jack Gance"'. So I'll ignore this for now. Meticulo (talk) 00:21, 26 April 2023 (UTC)

The article Ingogo (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Disambiguation page not required (WP:ONEOTHER). Primary topic article has a hatnote to the only other use.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 21:22, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
