Your comment on my talk page
Hi, I'm guessing that you may have left a [message on my talk page] in error. If it was intended for another user, this is a heads-up. If it was intended for me, I'll need more details in order to understand your meaning. Cheers.-- Quisqualis (talk) 22:45, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- Another user seemed to create your userpage for you about a question and I questioned whether it was intended for your userpage or your talk page. So I brought it to your talk page to let you know about the creation of your userpage by another user, and if it was created by accident, I figured to place the "U1" CSD tag, but I guess it was already done so per the page deletion log. Would u help me with Draft:Typhoon Mindulle (2021)? and my reasons that im working on it is that it was a long lived and long tracked Cat 5 typhoon. a cat 5 storm dosent happen that common. and it also had a Large eye that filled up most of its center Rainbow Galaxy POC (talk) 12:46, 30 November 2022 (UTC)

Response to greetings
Hello, Sarrail. I notice that you've left two greetings messages on Talk pages of recent IP's of mine. I appreciate your welcoming efforts, but please be aware . . .
I've been editing on Wikipedia for approaching 20 years. I've deliberately chosen not to open an Account (so far). This is both on principle and for personal reasons –
- I believe that all posts and edits should stand or fall on their own merits, rather than on their editor's reputation.
- I'm comfortable with the degree of activity I currently devote to the project; were I to open an account I would, because of my own obsessive personality, feel obligated to spend even more effort and time, more than I ought, to both up-front editing and back-room activities.
Now that I've reached retirement age and and am free of various former professional and personal responsibilities, I may in the future change my position, but for the moment it stands.
In former years I edited from workplaces and libraries as well as from home, though latterly only the last. Some years ago my former home ISP, which used static IPs, was taken over by my current one which provides dynamic ones. In order to preserve continuity within dialogues (actual and potential), I end all my posts and edit summaries with a Prince-flavoured nod to my last static IP – you could check it to (partly) confirm my longevity here, and you can use my sign-off to avoid the effort of greeting future new IPs of mine.
Regards

Don't revert without discussion
You reverted my constructive post of the UNHRC page. I would appreciate a discussion instead of you backing an editor who has demonstrated his anti-Semitism. 2603:8081:6B04:5300:1879:5D12:70BA:2141 (talk) 15:21, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
- There is a discussion at WP:ANI#IP User. Feel free to reply there. Additionally, I would refrain from makin' personal attacks on other users and using the talk page as a forum. Sarrail (talk) 15:59, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Revert nonpartisan elections
All elections in California are only nonpartisan in 2010 every thing 2010 and back is not nonpartisan so please remove the block it was not disputative editing 74.62.14.55 (talk) 03:49, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- Why would you change it back to Democratic when it deliberately states on the page
Municipal elections in California are officially non-partisan.
? Sarrail (talk) 03:58, 9 December 2022 (UTC)- They do this with multiple IPs, apparently they don't like the grey box under it even when they do say "nonpartisan." reppoptalk
- Reppop, I'm guessing the editor is back as another IP address. Sarrail (talk) 02:46, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's them. IIRC someone blocked them for a week on the 2603:8001:2902:64F4 address, I guess it expired now. reppoptalk 02:49, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- Not quite. They've been blocked for 3 years 'cause of a school block. Sarrail (talk) 02:50, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- Oh sorry I was talking about that 2603:8001:2902:64F4 one, I know the 74.62.14.55 one is blocked for 3 years. reppoptalk 02:51, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- Um, they haven't been blocked. Is it a /64 range? Sarrail (talk) 02:54, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- I think so? I just really remember going to one of the IP addresses and it had that. reppoptalk 02:56, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- You're right. Guess I missed the /64 range. Sarrail (talk) 02:58, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- And they're right back at it on editing without consensus. reppoptalk 04:38, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- Per David Biddulph's edit summary, it states "The IP's change which you reverted seems to be supported by the cited ref." So it seems like it is sourced, though we could raise consensus for the IP. However, Materialscientist's sedit summary contains "Unnecessary, disruptive". Who should I trust? Sarrail (talk) 13:16, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- Where in the reference does it say that they had parties? Either way the IP is still going to many nonpartisan elections and just removing them entirely, even if it was nonpartisan. I previously started a discussion to determine what would happen to the colors in nonpartisan elections. reppoptalk 18:36, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- (edit) Also, Materialscientist reverted them randomly putting "independent" in the infobox even though there were no indpenendents in the LA County Supervisors. reppoptalk 18:43, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- Well, in the meantime, let's try gainin' consensus for these edits (primarily more of it by the IP.) Sarrail (talk) 05:05, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
- I honestly don't think they'd try to get consensus, this has been going on for months. reppoptalk 22:09, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
- It looks like all the action has dwindled and waned; we should just leave the IP editor alone (as they've not edited for 3-4 days by now.) However, if the IP editor starts firin' up again, we'll try to get consensus or even open a dispute resolution. However, I'll stay quiet for now. Sarrail (talk) 22:13, 15 December 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Mr. pete
Hello Sarrail,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Mr. pete for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.
If you don't want Mr. pete to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

If you have not yet signed up, you can add your name here and the judges will set up your submissions page ready for you to take part. Any questions on the scoring, rules or anything else should be directed to one of the judges, or posted to the WikiCup talk page. Teahouse/RFA
I would respectfully suggest that it isn't the best idea to suggest to people at the Teahouse that they nominate themselves for admin status. I realize that is technically allowed, but most users at the Teahouse who ask about it are nowhere near a place where they would have any chance at succeeding in a RFA, which would only cause them disappointment, frustration, and possibly anger at not succeeding when their nomination fails(and is likely SNOW closed)- and all of this just causes more work for people at the RFA page. Just some advice. 331dot (talk) 21:35, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
- Understood. Thank you, 331dot. No worries, this advice can be really helpful next time a similar question like that one rolls around. Sarrail (talk) 21:41, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
