[edit]Re: ANI report, I genuinely thought I or another editor would have to provide a long list of diffs to get the point across, so very much appreciate your response to the situation. I also support your comment to the user, as the editor is involved in a very under-edited area of WP, that of women's football, and I believe is fundamentally capable of positively contributing to that. - I hope they take me up on it. voorts (talk/contributions) 00:57, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- I referenced your conduct as part of an example here [1] Although not required to inform you, I'd prefer you to be aware than discussing your actions without your awareness. It'd nothing negative, instead quite the opposite :) CNC (talk) 18:25, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
Venue for reports of unsourced content
[edit]Regarding your recent ANI close - I have previously been asked not to report unsourced content issues to AIV as they are out of AIV's scope, which is specifically for obvious vandalism and spam, and directed to ANI as that is correct venue for such reports. Waxworker (talk) 02:18, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- Fair. I see that's a controversial point, so I'll strike that comment. voorts (talk/contributions) 02:20, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
RFA RFC
[edit]Howdy. You may want to re-open your RFC. VPI is more like a discussion, whereas an RFC can actually make changes. I don't think the RFC will succeed, because there's only 5 neutrals in the current RFA, suggesting to me that the Option 1 camp is a minority. But you advertised the RFC all over the place, so may want to let it play out. Happy holidays. –Novem Linguae (talk) 21:49, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- Done Happy holidays to you too. voorts (talk/contributions) 21:53, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- FWIW I wanted to say thanks for keeping it open - the ideas lab discussion I opened was just to put some feelers out before making a real RFC, and so someone who knows how to set one up properly doing it instead has made my life easier! BugGhost 🦗👻 23:41, 15 December 2024 (UTC)

Appeal of Sanction Notice
[edit]I have decided I will not be editing any articles within any contentious topics on this site. This means I will not be editing any articles in any area of LGBT topics or subjects in the future or any other area designated as contentious. I like to edit wikipedia for relaxation and enjoyment and the past week has been anything but that due to my poor choices of subjects to edit and my interactions with trans editors. At any rate, if you wish to remove me from the sanctions I will promise to stay completely away from these topics. This also means I will not edit any biographies in the area of LGBT as well or the biography of any person or editors of such topics. Thanks in advance for your consideration. KindHorta (talk) 00:33, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- The only active sanction is the warning I gave you to comply with relevant policies. I appreciate that you are planning to avoid topics that cause issues, but I think the warning was valid and I won't be retracting it. If you have any questions about any policies and guidelines going forward, or want any kind of editing advice, please feel free to leave me a message here. Best, voorts (talk/contributions) 00:49, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- I may just take you up on that if I need assistance. Thanks. Also, Yamla has blocked my home IP address as anon blocked and cannot create an account. This IP address is assigned to a comcast router that randomly cycles different IP addresses every so often, so as a heads up, the block on that IP is rather pointless since I use this account now (KindHorta) and not a naked IP. Just giving you a heads up because my Wikipedia account may be switching to another IP intermittently. I don't want to be accused of block evasion the next time it cycles just because I come into the site from another IP. If Yamla wants to leave the block in place fine, but expect it to cycle before 2 years is out. KindHorta (talk) 02:19, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- Nobody will check what IP you use when you're logged in unless there's a reason to under the checkuser policy. voorts (talk/contributions) 02:37, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- OK, cool. That works. KindHorta (talk) 02:38, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

Happy holidays!
[edit]Happy holidays and a prosperous 2025! | ||
voorts, you have a talent for seeing the nuances in posts at the dramaboards. There are plenty of people who only try to run and shout "first! I responded first! Look at me! Did I mention I responded first to this complaint?" You are often the first to respond, but you always have sage advice and, at least in my observation, more often than not your contributions are enough to successfully resolve the situation. And, contrary to what some said at your RfA, your content creation portfolio is commendable, especially for someone who started contributing in earnest less than two years ago. Happy holidays, and wishing you all the best in 2025, HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 03:45, 22 December 2024 (UTC) |
